The AMS is an elastic suspension for M/S. It accepts up to two compact microphones arranged one above the other, and thus allows mono and M/S stereo recordings. Suitable miniature microphones would include the CCM-L compact microphones as well as Colette capsules (MK_) on active cables (KC for mono, KCY for stereo).

The required cables are described under "Applications." The AMS is also available with a built-in, 2 × 115 mm Y cable for the input and 250 mm for the output. The front-end cables in this arrangement are particularly thin and flexible for the sake of good shock isolation. The output cable is especially sturdy.

The various versions with cables are:

AMS CI:

• for two MK microphone capsules,
• extension cable, e.g. KS 5 I, 5 meters long, for connection to the VMS 5 microphone preamplifier or VST 62 IUg microphone amplifier

AMS LI:

• for two CCM-L compact microphones,
• with miniature Binder output connector,
• extension/adapter cable with XLR-5M output connector: KS 5 IU (5 meters long)

AMS LU

• for two CCM-L compact microphones,
• with XLR-5 output plug

The AMS can be attached to any mounting hardware with a 3/8" thread, e.g. to our STR extension rods.

All varieties of the AMS are also available with basket-type windscreen.
